It's official, Onslow and Pauline have been with the TrygKerz family for one year. Woot! It's hard to imagine life without these little buggers...

Here are some photos I took of the cats right before we left for our trip to Seattle. Expect some Seattle pictures next week.

Spring Thaw I

After the dump of snow we received in the Fargo/Moorhead area on Tuesday (a blizzard that pretty much closed down the metro area), a warm burst of temperatures this weekend was welcomed with open arms. Kris and I finally were able to venture out this afternoon... and, in traditional Britta-style, I took pictures. Kris also brought our new video camera on our little adventure, so, maybe look for a YouTube video in the future.

This spring is suppose to be a wet one... with people already predicting that the FM area will will flood almost as bad as in 1997. I imagine there will be a lot of pictures on my blog concerning the spring thaw this year, so stay tuned.

Avalynn Marie: Batch 1

Ah, Avie...

On Friday, my cousin Errin came to visit with her new daughter Avalynn Marie. Being the shutterbug that I am (and an expectant mum myself), I took a lot of photos of little Avie. So, please bear with me as a post a few blogs this week on this adorable 6 week old.

Also, if you pay attention to tags, I've started a new one called 2009: The year of Love. 2009 is, and will continue to be, quite a joyous year for myself, my family and my friends. With tons of weddings (so far, 5 weddings on the personal books) and lots and lots of babies being born this year (already too many to count), I thought it would be a nice category. So, there you go.

Onslow and Pauline are well on their way to cathood. They've recently switched from kitten food to cat food, and in less than a month they'll be a year old. So, I figured I should probably document them while they are still in their kitten year.


This is Onslow's "Oh, my... don't stop, don't stop..." face. It was cat love time.








Everytime we are even close to the back door, both Onslow and Pauline start begging to go outside. They know they way outside is to touch the door knob, but they haven't figured out how they can do it yet.

This weekend, Kris and I took a marathon trip down to the cities to hit up IKEA. We are nearing completion of our basement... and we needed some furniture to tie the space together. Photographs very soon on the progress.

Anywho, we arrived at our friend Al & Jen's place on Sunday afternoon... right on time for a walk with Al, Jen and Anna to the park.











... and, of course, the truly young at heart...







Tony and Erin live only a few blocks from Al and Jen, so we were able to pop over and meet their new dog Mingus.

Home & House Cats

We've been doing a little work on our basement lately. After putting up the sheet rock on our north wall (which was torn out to put in support beams when we bought the house), we decided we wanted to make it an exciting space to chill out in. Now keep in mind we are usually subdued, quiet, calm people. So, loud colors really are out of the norm for us. I mean you can usually find Kris wearing black... and, my closet resembles various shades of grey and browns. But, we wanted to break out of our shells, so we went with some very, very loud colors.

We're making a trip to IKEA next week, so, these rooms currently do not look put together. I promise to post more photos in a couple weeks when we finally get it the way we like (after almost one year!)

Here is a painting by Jim Fletcher (my High School art teacher) gave my parents for their wedding 26ish years ago. My dad is letting me borrow it for a bit, under the understanding that it must stay in a dark room (to limit fading) and that it will be returned to them. Isn't it beautiful?



Meanwhile, I put up another photo collage similar to what we had in our apartment. I've filled it full of pictures of friends and family, but, realized it's been awhile since I've printed off anything... lots of old photos in there.



Yesterday, to my dismay, it snowed. Luckily, it's all gone now, but, we thought it would be a good oppurtunity to let the cats discover why it's not cool to go outside. They didn't get the memo.
