Khale Skjold Swims

I have a new found respect for photographers who take pictures of High School Boys Swimming. Their swim meets are held in dark, dingy spaces packed full of half naked high school boys who not only do not care where water is splashed but are also a tinsy afraid of 20 something women holding a camera. They smell of chlorine is over bearing (maybe only for a pregnant woman) and the sides of the pool are wet and slippery... threatening one to slip right into the pool at any moment. Yes, a new found respect I have for sport photographers.

I attempted to take some pictures of Khale Skjold, who some of you know and some of you might remember from his senior pictures this fall. Khale is a great swimmer, but he is really difficult to photograph as his event is freestyle swimming and he prides himself on limiting the amount of breathing he does. In any case, here are my favorite photographs from his last meet at Fargo South High School last week.

I feel like this photo need explanation. Apparently, it's tradition to stuff the smallest member of the Fargo South team into a Swimmers cap (yes, you read that right) during the last meet. They succeeded after breaking only 1 cap.

Megan!

Megan is my aunt Mara's niece (confusing enough)... so, I've spent a few Christmases getting to know her and her great family. She's such a responsible teenager with her head straight on her shoulders... but, she also has a wonderful, easy going personality and a creative eye! I photographed her for her senior pictures both downtown and at the studio.... but, I secretly hope we can do a winter session too as she was so fun to shoot.

Enjoy :)

Khale!

Woh... I'll say it again, I've been busy, busy, busy. Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I've barely had time to check other blogs, much less post on mine.

Anywho, here are some my favorite pictures I took of Mr. Khale Skjold just a few weeks ago.

Samantha

WARNING: I'll probably be posting a lot of my niece Samantha's Graduate Photographs. She's just so darn gorgeous :)

A couple weeks ago, the husband and I traveled to central North Dakota to visit his family (well, my family now too...). We stayed at Karmen and Steve's farm near Garrison... and, it was there I took some of Samantha's graduate photographs.

Sami seemed nervous at first, but, really got a hang of it after awhile. I'm used to seeing her smiling a laughing, so, when she brought out this beautiful calm, serious look, I was quite surprised (and pleased!).

Did you guess Sami is a farm girl? Yep... president of her FFA Chapter!

We took some photographs with Kris' mother's old car... which, if you've followed my blog, you've seen before.
