2009 Q3 WPJA wins

I really didn't expect (at all) to win anything this year since the whole having a baby thing limited the amount of weddings I was able to photograph this year. So, I am humbled. Really.

WPJA/Bride's Magazine

As some of you know, I recently won two awards for the 2009 WPJA/Brides Magazine photo contest. One of the photos gained a first place win and was recently published in Bride's magazine in the Nov/Dec 2009 issue. Woo hoo. Pretty cool. The best part? It was a photograph I took during my friend Tony's wedding back in May of 2008... and my husband is square in the middle of the picture. I told Tony (as a joke, of course) the only way I would photograph is wedding is if he won me an award. Way to go Tony!

Woot for another WPJA mention (9th in Kids being Kids from Laura & Alex's wedding last April). Also, congrats to Dave who one two this time around (a 6th place in Weather and a 10th place in toasting)

Blue Earth Review

Last year, after the urging of my friend (and former Advocate Editor) Bronson, I submitted some photographs to be published in the Blue Earth Review, Minnesota State University Mankato's literary journal. Bronson is a graduate student at MSU-Mankato and an editor of the journal.

Apparently, they liked some of my work and used a photo for their cover.





Looks like I once again snagged the cover of the 2008 publication. Woot! It should be released sometime this spring.
