Ugly Tomato

I spent this past weekend at my parent's house canning tomatoes. I'm hoping that all the work will pay off this winter when I really want tomato soup, but can't bare to open a can of Campbells, or make some with crappy hydrophonic tomatoes.

My parents grew several types of tomatoes this year... regular 'old tomatoes, romas, cherrys, and my favorite, North Dakota Heirlooms. Oh my goodness, the heirlooms are tasty! And, well, quite interesting looking too. Here are some photos:
