Blue Earth Review

Last year, after the urging of my friend (and former Advocate Editor) Bronson, I submitted some photographs to be published in the Blue Earth Review, Minnesota State University Mankato's literary journal. Bronson is a graduate student at MSU-Mankato and an editor of the journal.

Apparently, they liked some of my work and used a photo for their cover.

Looks like I once again snagged the cover of the 2008 publication. Woot! It should be released sometime this spring.

My photo "Leona's Car II" will grace the cover:

Engelhards in the Studio! Again!

It's been a blast going through these photographs. If only Dana been here (Dana, Kim's second oldest, not Dana, my little brother), it would have kicked even more butt.

First, here are a couple more photographs of Alicia. Though I tried messing around with them in photoshop, I always returned the original. I think it's because Alicia has this wonderful natural beauty. Her skin is nearly perfect with a beautiful healthy glow. Moreover, it could because I know her... she's a very down to earth, real person. She is a simple beauty, that's for sure.

Here are some groupings, including one with my dear husband.

And, lastly, Minot's Next Top Model: Chelsey!

This one is nearly the same as the first image I posted in the last entry. However, I took some of Jacqueline's advice (thanks, by the way), and shaded it a bit different. I like the results. It brings you into her face more.

Engelhards in the Studio!

This weekend, Kris' sister Kim, with her children Alicia, Chelsey & Zach, came to Fargo for the 5th Annual Seafood Fest at the Skjold residence. I've been itching to take some photographs in the studio... and luckily for me, the Engelhards were willing victims. And, since I have tons of photographs from our session (a bagillion from Chelsey alone), I'll be posting them all week.

Earlier in the day, we were walking around the mall and Chelsey pointed out how ridiculous mannequins look. This is her interpretation of a mall mannequin.

Parents + Corgies

Just because I'm in an uber posting mood this week, here are a few more pictures from last weekend. Nothing fabulous, just my parents and their pups.

Onion Love

I don't particularly think these photographs are my best, but I thought I share since I spent so long on Saturday working on them.

Winter Near Erhard - February 2008

Kris and I had intended to go out near Erhard, Minnesota, and visit my parents for just one night this weekend. But, as nature would have it, we stayed until Sunday. I thought I'd take advantage of the situation by taking some photographs outside. So, I bundled up in Minnesota's best (gloves came later), and headed out into the frigid blizzard (10ish below 0) to take some photographs.

As you'll notice from the pictures, it pretty much looks blizzard free there. My parents live in a valley with lots and lots of trees. It's great when you are there, but deceiving when you want to leave!
