Bras on Broadway

Last Thursday, as you know, was the 2nd Annual Bras on Broadway Fundraiser. The 'Bros on Broadway' photo did fairly well, raking in $150 for Breast Cancer Research. Woot!

I also took some photos of the event for the Hotel Donaldson. I was absolutely transfixed with their "bra garland" that hung outside the building. Kris had compared it to one of Christo's works. Here are a few photos of bras, bras and, you guessed it, more bras!

Thank Goodness...

Our good friend Erin Stojan (Tony Ruccolo's wonderful fiance) and her sister were missing last night into this morning. After an awful night sleep, good news came at about 9 am.

Erin, we hope you feel better soon... and we are very, very happy you are ok.

Here is the story from the S-Trib:

2 St. Paul sisters plucked from water after St. Croix canoe trip goes awry

Star Tribune
Last update: October 29, 2007 – 10:07 AM

Two St. Croix River canoeists who were missing since last evening have been pulled from the water and taken to a hospital, the Burnett County Sheriff's Office in western Wisconsin is reporting.
Holly Stojan, 27, and Erin Stojan, 29, sisters from St. Paul, were rescued from the river shortly before 10 a.m., the Sheriff's Office said.

There is no immediate word on their condition. They were taken to the Burnett Medical Center in Grantsburg, Wis., authorities said.

The sisters put in their canoe about 12:30 p.m. Sunday near Grantsburg, and a search for them began about 7 p.m. after canoe rental staff said the two didn't arrive at their pickup spot 8 miles down the river around 5 p.m., the Sheriff's Office said.

The search included the Grantsburg Fire Department, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter and Burnett County sheriff's deputies. It ended about 12:30 a.m. due to darkness, high water from recent heavy rains and swift currents.

The search resumed about 6 this morning, and the two were spotted from the air about 8 a.m. on the Minnesota side of the river, near Fox's Landing, the Sheriff's Office said. Less than two hours later, they were removed from the water.

Water temperature was in the low 40s, the Sheriff's Office said. The women were described as having a "moderate skill level" in canoeing but were not familiar with that stretch of the river. Before being spotted this morning, they were last seen Sunday wearing proper clothing and life jackets, the Sheriff's Office said.

Bros on Broadway

The second ever Bras on Broadway event will be held at the Hotel Donaldson this evening. The event will raise money for breast cancer research... and will debut an array of "enhanced" bras made by local artists. I photographed the event last year, and it was quite a blast.

This year I'm contributing a photograph to be sold in the silent auction. Please, come out and bid!

A special thanks to the husband for the brilliant idea, Ann Rudolph and Morea Steinhauer, and, of course, the men.

Garrison, N.D., Act 2

Here are three photographs of same landscape. I'm not quite sure if I like any of them... but, I know somethings there. I'll have to try again next trip.

I kept on seeing a photo here... but couldn't quite get it from the low vantage point.

Garrison, N.D., Act 1

In the interest of posting photos, here are a few photographs from our trip this weekend to Garrison, North Dakota. Kris' sister Karmen (with husband Steve and the kids) live about 10 miles from the small town. The landscape in central North Dakota is so completely different to what I'm used to... I love it.

Anywho, I have a ton of photos from our little trip, so I'll post more in the next couple of days.

Sam

Every once in awhile, a photographer comes across a subject who is so beautiful and so confident, that the camera can't get enough of them. Last Friday, that woman was Sam... a beautiful graduate from Crookston who can work the camera like know one I've photographed before.

It could be because she herself is a photographer... and quite a good one too. In any case, it was a lot of fun...

Ashley & Skip -- 09.07.07

Well, the short lull in weddings has ended, and, we're back shooting in full force. It's been busy, busy, busy. Hence the lack of wedding posts.

Anywho, here are a few images from Ashley & Skip's wedding. I challenged myself during this one... covering up my lcd screens on my cameras so I couldn't sneak a peak at any of the photos I shot that day. Let me tell you, I was worried. I thought for sure all of my photos would look awful. But, as it turned out (and, as I hoped), I actually shot a lot better.
